Minimum Days/Early Dismissals
Every third Monday is a minimum day, designated to accommodate faculty in-services and curriculum meetings (this option is subject to change if the third Monday is a holiday or if the Department of Catholic Schools schedules an Archdiocesan Professional Development workshop on a different Monday). The dismissal time is 12:30 p.m. Kindergarten has a special schedule for Minimum Days. Please consult the Kindergarten News for times.
Every Friday has an early dismissal time to facilitate faculty meetings. The schedule of dismissals is as follows:
2:00 p.m. - grades K-3
2:30 p.m. - grades 4-8
Often, the day before a long vacation is a 12:30 p.m. dismissal. Parents will be notified well in advance of special dismissal times. Extended Care is not available after the 12:30 p.m. dismissal of the Friday of the Parish Festival (09/29), Thanksgiving Vacation (11/22), Christmas Vacation (12/19), Faculty Inservice to Los Angeles Religious Congress (03/02), and Easter Vacation (04/05).
Please note: Students must be picked up promptly at dismissal times. Any student arriving too early (before 7:50 a.m.) or picked up too late (ten minutes after dismissal) will be entrusted to the Extended Care Program, and parents will be charged accordingly. This will be strictly enforced so PLEASE DO NOT CREATE CONFUSION BY INSTRUCTING YOUR CHILD THAT HE/SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO EXTENDED CARE. If a parent is late, the school has every right to ensure the safety of the child by signing him/her into the Extended Care Program.
